Calling for 2-1-1 Act

August Advocacy

During the last year, many of you have participated in what has amounted to United Way’s largest-ever national public policy effort: passing the Calling for 2-1-1 Act in Congress. We have had remarkable success in building support for this bill. We have 246 cosponsors in the House and 62 in the Senate. Thank you for your efforts!

But we have more work to do. We must engage in an intensive advocacy effort during Congress’ August recess. Member of Congress and Senators will be home visiting their constituents, hosting town halls and attending community forums. They will want to know what is important to you and our community. Let’s take this opportunity to press Congress to pass the Calling for 2-1-1 Act when they return to Washington in September.

Ask our Congressman and Senators to tell their Leadership to bring H.R. 211 or S.211 to a vote in September.
