For the past 12 years, United Way of Etowah County has been kicking off its Pacesetter Campaign with an annual Day of Action. This was formerly called Day of Caring, but Action suits the job description better.

Area companies have been invited to participate by helping area non-profit agencies with painting, cleaning, yard work, reading in daycare centers, and helping with other needs.

Activities begin at 8:00 am and end at the Gadsden Convention Hall with a luncheon. All volunteers receive LIVE UNITED t-shirts, and lunch will be provided to the volunteers and their companies’ CEOs.

Those who volunteer are shining examples of our community LIVING UNITED by advancing the common good and building a great place every day for people in Etowah County.

United Way LIVES UNITED by bringing together resources from local businesses and local agencies. It helps build great relationships along the road to lasting change.

If you cannot leave your place of employment, there are still many ways to help: Donate or collect personal care items (shampoo, toothbrushes for example), laundry and dish detergent, school supplies, diapers , books for toddlers, or for daycares.
